Edward Cross - Interlude
Review: storyinsoil - Siberia
If you’re looking for a nice, calming and introspective piece to get lost within, Edward Cross’ track, “Interlude” from his recent ep, Bybrook is the perfect song to hear right now. Filled with warm and awe inspiring orchestral instrumentation, “Interlude” is beautifully written and carries with it quite the heavy yet incredibly intriguing mood.
Sitting in the middle of his ep, “Interlude” is a nice touch to the overall release and sits in the perfect spot.
“The concept is to have ‘Interlude’ as an emotional breather within the EP, leading to a big build up and finale of a post rock style outcry from 'Take Me Home'. My ep began with research into music and the reward centre of the brain, as part of my degree. Therefore, you will notice similarities in instrumentation, and certain frequencies (particularly the frequencies in 'frequency 2') proven to release dopamine in the brain, causing pleasure and relaxation,” states Cross as he discusses the production process behind the release.
