June Amiss - When We Met
Years ago I fell in love with ambient artists such as July Skies and have since held their music very close. It’s not often that I’m able to come across similarly sounding artists but that all changed when I was introduced to June Amiss and heard, “When We Met.”
I’m in awe of how delicately the guitar hooks float throughout the song, never losing the listener’s attention. They’re calming but also have a level of intensity to them that I quite adore. The entire atmosphere in, “When We Met” is very post-rock and ambient - swells here and there with well crafted delays that throw themselves all around the song. This is an incredibly gorgeous song and I was beyond thrilled to connect with a piece that is this thought provoking.
